What Has Abraham To Do With Salvation
?

It was in the late seventies when I was confronted by a young man who asked me, “Brother, do you know Jesus?” I can't remember what my answer was however, if I were to be asked that question today, I would reply by asking him, “Brother, do you know Abraham?” Surly he would come right back and ask “What does Abraham have to do with salvation? To which I would say “Something...Abraham must have something to do with salvation”  And Yahshua (Jesus) said unto him, “This day is salvation come to this house, for so much as he also is a son of Abraham. For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was Lost".

Luke 19:9

Blessed be Yahweh Elohim (God) of Israel for he hath visited and redeemed his people

Luke 1:68

To perform the mercy promised to our fathers, and to remember his holy covenant; The oath which he swore to our father Abraham.
Luke 1:72-73

What Is The Oath?

And I will make my covenant between me and thee, and will multiply thee exceedingly.  As for me, behold, my covenant is with thee, and thou shalt be a father of many nations. ...for a father of many nations have I made thee.  And I will make thee exceeding fruitful and I will make nations of thee, and kings shall come out of thee. And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be an Elohim (God) unto thee, and to thy seed after thee.

Gen: 17:2-7

That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies; And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice.

Gen: 22:17-18

Some History

After the Hebrews crossed over into the promised land… there was a split in their government and they went to war.

And there was war between Asa and Baasha king of Israel all their days. And Baasha king of Israel went up against Judah, and built Ramah, that he might not suffer any to go out or come in to Asa king of Judah.

And there was war between Asa (king of Judah) and Baasha king of Israel all their days.

1 Kings 15:16-17 and 32

Eventually the northern ten tribes were taken captive by the Assyrians. Many years later (about 200 ) the house of Judah was also taken captive by the Babylonians.

During the time of Yahshua, many Jews had returned from captivity and there were mostly Jews in Yahrusalem.

"I know that you are Abraham's seed; (speaking to Jews) but ye seek to kill me, because my word hath no place in you".

John 8:37

Then came the Jews around about him, and said unto him, How long dost thou make us to doubt? If thou be the Messiah, tell us plainly. Yahshua answered them, "I told you, and ye believed not: the works that I do in my Father's name, they bear witness of me. But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you. My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me".

John 10:24-27

… He saith unto him, "Feed my sheep".

John 21:16

"I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine".

John 10:14

Who Are His Sheep?

But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel (the northern 10 tribes that were taken captive by the Assyrians. Not the House of Judah).

Math. 15:24

These twelve Yahshua sent forth, and commanded them, saying, "Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not: But go rather to the lost sheep of the House of Israel.

Math. 10:6

Are only Abraham's seed being called?

And if ye be Messiah's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

Gal. 3:29

When Yahshua came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the son of man am? And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Eliyah; and others, Jeremiah, or one of the prophets. He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Messiah, the Son of the living Elohim. And Yahshua answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjonah for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.

Math. 16:13-17

No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him.

John 6:44
